New study reveals: Straight women are more likely to regret casual sex if they didn’t initiate it
Regretting one-night stands is a common issue of millions of people worldwide. Why are we feeling sorry after having sex? The new study reveals that straight women are more likely to regret casual sex if they didn’t initiate it.
When it comes to one-night heterosexual sex, there is a common myth that ladies are more likely to regret what they have done. However, the new study provided by scientists from the University of Texas in cooperation with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology shows that females more often feel sorry about sex in case it was initiated by men.
Over 200 American and 547 Norwegian heterosexual students took part in the research. According to the study, the most common feelings of those who regret casual sex are disgust, worry and low spirits. Though, partner’s sexual competency and taking initiative led to less regret.
The study also found that women who initiated sex usually feel more comfortable with their sexuality. Since these ladies have healthier sexual psychology and make their choices by themselves, their feelings of regret after one-night stands are not so strong. In such cases, the females feel they are the only ones, who are responsible for choosing a great or bad sexual partner.
Therefore, the most important things for successful casual sex are high self-esteem and an awareness of what you are definitely looking for. Just, know yourself and know your worth!
